Developing and maintaining a safe workplace is no easy task. It takes the combined effort of management, executive and front line personnel working together every day. It takes a culture of safety ingrained in employees from their first day on the job until the day they retire. It takes continued effort on the part of safety professionals to stay up-to-date on current trends, equipment, recalls and legislation changes. The Sandusky Area Safety Council (SASC) believes that education and knowledge are the primary tools on the forefront of accident and injury prevention. We strive to ensure employers have the necessary tools to develop and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
The SASC meets on the second Monday of the month beginning at 5:30pm to discuss training opportunities, best practices and a pertinent safety topic presented by a variety of industry and community leaders.
We understand the importance of safety within the workplace and work hard to ensure that each meeting serves as a tool to educate members on the various ways to create and maintain a safe working environment. Topics vary greatly from traditional OSHA topics such as fall protection to drugs in the work place, wellness and combating work place violence.
It is our hope that you will join us in our endeavor to promote and ensure safety within the workplace.
